Wire Industry

In the wire industry, there are miles of wire drawn, and redirected and treated and wound daily, which require pulleys, rollers and guides with which to perform such work.

Ceramic materials are suitable for the manufacture of these elements due to their high wear resistance. The use of ceramic components has proven effective in these applications and their use is widespread in the industry.

In addition the use of materials with small particle size allows exceptional surface finishes on parts, allowing the high quality wire to be produces for much longer time, thus preventing the production of lower quality items.

For the manufacture of these components Apceram normally uses MgPSZ and YPSZ zirconias, and silicon carbide.
